Warrior Construction LLC (license BC-34373) has been engaged by the Association of Apartment Owners of Luna Liho Towers to replace the underground stormwater drainage system serving their 13-story residential condominium in Honolulu’s Punchbowl district. The scope covers four underground storm drain lines running from the building’s foundation to the street curb — infrastructure that has been in place for decades and is due for a full repair program.
The work follows a condition-based approach developed with the project’s civil/plumbing engineer. Each drain line will first be camera-inspected along its full buried run. Lines in serviceable condition will be augered clean and rehabilitated with a field-applied epoxy resin liner, while sections damaged beyond repair will be excavated and replaced with new tar-coated, schedule-rated galvanized steel pipe. Plans include careful utility locating before excavation, protective barriers to keep resident access safe, and full restoration of curbing, sidewalk, and landscaping.
Because the building stays fully occupied, the work is planned around access, noise, and work-hour restrictions typical of in-service multifamily housing. The contract calls for substantial completion within 60 calendar days of notice to proceed.
